Recently, Yafen Intelligent's custom multi-functional walk-in cage washer dedicated cleaning and transfer rack for a collaborative research laboratory has completed workshop full-load testing, quality inspection, and packaging, and was smoothly shipped to the customer for use. This cleaning rack supports universal loading of various specifications of mouse cages, rat cages, and rabbit cages, providing an all-in-one solution to the customer's challenges of cleaning and transferring multiple types of cages.
The customer's laboratory houses mice, rats, and experimental rabbits simultaneously. Previously, they used a single-specification cage rack alongside their existing walk-in cage washer. Cleaning required batch transfers and multiple entries/exits from the washing chamber, resulting in cumbersome procedures, low cleaning efficiency, inability to synchronize different cage cleaning, and significantly extended daily cleaning hours. Additionally, the customer's cleaning room passage width and internal loading space of the walk-in cage washer had special dimensional constraints that standard universal racks could not match.
Addressing these multiple pain points, Yafen's technical team tailored the rack by optimizing layer spacing, loading positions, and overall outer frame dimensions based on the internal spray layout, door opening size, and daily cage ratio of the walk-in cage washer. The multi-specification universal multi-functional cleaning rack is constructed with thickened 304 stainless steel through one-piece welding, featuring polished surfaces with no dead corners. It can withstand long-term exposure to 85°C high-temperature rinses and corrosion from various laboratory disinfectants, complying with SPF animal house cleanliness and epidemic prevention standards. Its multi-layer adjustable positioning design allows flexible adaptation to mouse IVC cages, rat cages, and rabbit cages, enabling synchronous cleaning of multiple cage types without replacing the rack. The open grid structure does not obstruct spray water flow, allowing high-pressure water to penetrate cage gaps and thoroughly rinse away bedding and fecal residue, eliminating cleaning blind spots.
Equipped with heavy-duty silent swivel casters with brakes at the bottom, the rack can directly push cages into the breeding area for transfer. When fully loaded, it can be pushed entirely into the walk-in cage washer, achieving integrated 'transfer - cleaning' operations and reducing repeated manual handling. The overall load-bearing structure is reinforced to ensure no deformation or shaking when fully loaded with multiple racks, maintaining stability and durability during high-temperature drying cycles.
